From today’s SF Chronicle, a fascinating tale of a kidnapping that no one knew about (at first):

The case was one of the most unusual in the annals of San Francisco crime. Although Mr. Moskovitz was a member of a prominent business family and rumors about his kidnapping circulated throughout the city, the news media kept the story quiet for four days until the police tracked down one of the suspects, seized him in a phone booth and forced him to lead homicide inspectors to the kidnappers’ lair, where they found Mr. Moskovitz and freed him.
